Overview
Facebook Product Catalog is a container that holds information about the items you want to advertise or sell across Facebook platforms. Integrated with Zeotap, it allows marketers to showcase their product inventory and create dynamic ads that automatically promote relevant products to people who have expressed interest on their website, app, or elsewhere on the internet. Pre requisites- Facebook Business Manager Account a. Active account with Product Catalog linked to your Business Manager
- Catalog ID a. Unique identifier for your Facebook Product Catalog b. Found at: Commerce Manager > Catalogs > Your Catalog > Settings
- API Key and Permissions a. Valid Facebook API key with catalog_management permission to create, edit, and manage product catalogs b. ads_management permission for running dynamic ads with the catalog
- Commerce Policies Acceptance a. Must accept Facebook’s Commerce Policies terms (mandatory step)
- Product Data Attributes a. Product feed containing: Product ID, Title, Description, Price, Availability, Image URLs, Brand, and other catalog-specific fields
Creating a Destination
Perform the following steps to create a Destination for Facebook Product Catalog:
A screen appears displaying details about the particular destination towards the left. On the right-hand side of the screen find a list of fields that are required for the integration to be established. Enter the required details as mentioned in the following steps:
In the new screen that appears, choose the appropriate Action and mapping as explained below.a. Choose the desired action under Choose your Action and then choose the corresponding product attributes under Map the Fields. By default, the Output Identifiers that are accepted by the platform such as product ID, title, description, price, availability, brand, and more are displayed. However, you can edit, add or remove an attribute from the list. To do so, refer here.b. Click Create Destination. The created Destination gets listed in the Target and Audiences applications, which can be linked to a product feed.
