Learn about the new features released in Q4 of 2023.

Enhancements in Audiences

The below features are now available in the Audiences application.

Audience Overlap

Audience Overlap (14-12-2023) We have introduced Audience Overlap feature in Audiences. This denotes the shared customer percentage between two Audiences, providing valuable insights into customer behaviour for effective marketing strategies. Let’s consider the following example showcasing the Audience Overlap feature: Consider two distinct Audiences outlined below.
  • Audience A - Targets 2.5K unique Fitness Enthusiasts interested in gym memberships, workout apparel and fitness equipment.
  • Audience B - Targets 177.9K unique Healthy Cooking Enthusiasts interested in organic food, recipe books and cooking utensils.
Upon checking the Audience Overlap between these audiences, it’s found that 2.5K customers are common to both. This overlap can be used to develop joint promotions/combined packages, ensuring tailored content and preventing ad fatigue among these customers. For more information about how to use this feature, refer here. Audience Trends (14-12-2023) With the introduction of Audience Trends, you can now view real-time insights of your audience as per the configured refresh frequency. The count of qualified customers dynamically updates with the inflow of new data and qualifying criteria for the audience segment. Zeotap facilitates a retrospective analysis of your audience over the past 30, 60 or 90 days. For more information about how to use Audience Trends, refer here.

Bulk Deletion of Customers Through Audience

Bulk Deletion of Customers Through Audience (08-12-2023) In line with Zeotap CDP’s support for the Right to Erasure functionality as per GDPR Compliances, we allow you to delete customers in bulk from the Zeotap system, in the Audiences module. While creating an Audience, you can select the Delete customers in this Audience from the system checkbox shown in the image below, to delete a cohort of customers qualifying for the Audience criteria. Note that this feature deletes customers from the Zeotap system. However, it does not impact customers activated on the Destinations. For more information about how and when to use the checkbox, refer here.

Introduction of Membership Functionality in Audiences

Introduction of Membership Functionality in Audiences (09-11-2023) Membership is a functionality that enables you, as a marketer, to keep your audience refreshed. Note that it labels users who become part of that audience through the Audience’s membership. This information can be further used through the Segment Membership Calculated Attribute for filtering or activating users through the Profile API. To understand this concept better, consider the following use case: Assume that you wish to exclude users associated with a specific audience without activating it on a Destination. You can achieve this by enabling the membership of this audience to include only the most recent users. To know more about this functionality, refer here.

Ada: AI-Based Audience Builder in Audiences

Ada: AI-Based Audience Builder in Audiences (30-10-2023) To simplify the Audience creation and definition process, we have partnered with Google’s Vertex AI and developed an AI-based Audience builder. You can use this feature to describe your Audience criteria in simple English, which in turn produces the conditional blocks, which otherwise is a manual effort. This feature, named Ada in honour of the first woman programmer, enables you to input prompts, automatically generating conditional blocks. You can rewrite the prompts to obtain diverse outcomes and manually edit conditional blocks as needed. To know more about this feature, refer here. The below video summarises the Audience creation process through the AI-based Audience Builder, Ada.

Enhancements in Journeys

(07-12-2023) In the Add Entry Condition screen, along with the existing Performed an event and Have Certain Attributes / IDs options, you can now choose Have change in attributes. This option enables you to track an attribute for any/specific change in its status. By choosing the Attribute Name and Any Change from the drop-down menu, you specify the attribute for which you want to track the change in its status. For example, suppose you want to keep a track on the credit score of a customer based on which you can create promotions. In this case, you can choose the Attribute Nameas Credit Scoreand choose Any change from the drop-down menu beside it. For more precise tracking, you can choose Has specific change instead of Any change, and establish the required conditions according to your needs. For more information about this feature, refer here.

Enhanced Destinations Experience

(09-11-2023) In this release, we have upgraded the user interface of the Destinations module, enhancing overall platform usability. Further to it, we have introduced the following two concepts in the Destination product experience:
  • Actions: Introducing Destination operations that empower users to conduct various activities. These actions range from sending identifiers to the intended Audience, managing CRM contacts, to dispatching custom behavioural events and more.
  • Mappings: To configure each Action, users must define specific mapping details. This feature provides control over the data sent to a Destination, allowing users to choose what data to include or exclude.
The below video summarises the enhancements in the new Destination module.

Support for AMP Pages

(16-10-2023) We have added support for Accelerated Mobile Pages (AMP) pages, which is a technique for developing fast-loading web pages that primarily serve static content. AMP aims to enhance the user experience on mobile devices by optimising web pages for rapid loading and smooth performance. It achieves this through a combination of streamlined HTML, JavaScript and caching strategies. AMP is particularly beneficial for content publishers and website developers who seek to ensure that their web pages load swiftly and efficiently on mobile devices, ultimately improving user engagement and site accessibility.
